Christmas in Manila, December 2007

Just wanted to continue the story of our trip to Manila with this installment.

DAY 09

We spent the day after the wedding recovering... Little Nio spent time behind bars so that some of us could rest and others could help put away things from the night before.

Advent-01

Here he is plotting his next adventure.

Advent-02

Later that evening we went across town to the home of Lolo Jimmy and Lola Mercy to celebrate the last Sunday of Christmas. Here's an overhead view showing the arrangement in the garden and where Fr. Joey de Leon would be holding mass for us that evening.

Advent-03

Little Nio on his mommy's lap enjoying the evening.

DAY 10 — CHRISTMAS EVE

After going to hear mass, yet again, it is a tradition in our family to all get around for a meal on Christmas eve. We gather around to count our blessings and just enjoy the warmth and company.

Christmas-02

Lolo Jun sits at one end of the table...

Christmas-01

... while Lola Nene sits at the other end. After we have a quick meal together, everyone runs off to start opening gifts.

Christmas-06

Opening up a gift for Little Nio called "The Pirates of the Toilet". Personally I would have preferred the branding "Bathtime Buccaneers".

Christmas-10

Here is Little Nio trying on one of his new outfits.

Christmas-09

Standing with his mommy right beside his very first Christmas tree.

Christmas-07

Little Nio's daddy, (that's me on the left) with Tito Nico posing with our new shirts.

Christmas-12

Now Little Nio's mommy with Tita Jocelyn posing with their new clothes. Although I do think that my wife got a nightgown.

Christmas-13

Christmas-08

My wife, Kanittha, gets on very well with my brother, Tito Nico, and his girlfriend, Tita Jocelyn.

Christmas-05

Christmas-04

Christmas with our loved ones is the way it should be.

DAY 11 - CHRISTMAS DAY

The day after Christmas is usually a slow day, but we went out to spend a day with Tito Nico and Tita Jocelyn (and her younger "sister").

Day-11-02

Day-11-01

Here we are having lunch together at "Market, Market".

Day-11-03

Little Nio and his mommy having lunch.

DAY 12

The days are slowing down in our visit and we are all very thankful to get a bit of rest. These holidays and vacations can get pretty exhausting at times.

Day-12-02

Here's Little Nio with his Lolo Jun spending some quality time together outside in the driveway.

Day-12-01

After spending all that quality time together, it's time for a bit of downtime. A quiet nap with a bottle of milk, it doesn't get too much better than that.

DAY 13

It's our last day in Manila and we're ready to go home to Bangkok.

Day-13-01

Little Nio picked up his first cold in Manila, probably from his cousin, Sofia. Now getting a cold isn't such a bad thing really as it helps activate and build up his immune systems, but all that would have been better supported if were in Bangkok. We have a hospital right around the corner and we have the medicines that Little Nio is already familiar with.

Day-13-02

My son tends to travel without frills. He gives new meaning to the phrase "living out of a suitcase".

Day-13-03

Posing with some semblance of a smile, Little Nio is flanked by his Lola Nene on one side and his mommy on the other. We're almost all packed up, but not quite ready to go.

DAY 14 — GOING HOME

Day-14-01

A last minute photo opportunity with Lola Nene and my wife, Kanittha.

Day-14-02

A great goodbye shot from the Saranglaos! Tita Tessa carrying Sofia, with Jose in the middle with his daddy, Tito Louie.

Day-14-03

Power napping at the airport line with Daddy.

Day-14-04

Little Nio gives Manila one last wave goodbye just before boarding at Gate 10.
